About Me

Hello! Hola!

My name is Andrea Calderon and I am a Chicago-based Chicana illustrator and graphic designer with a passion for digital portraiture, freehand illustration, and minimalist design. My work explores cultural and religious themes, with a strong focus on creating visually compelling illustrations that connect with diverse audiences like the Hispanic community. I am skilled in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Procreate. Through my coursework at Dominican University and hands-on internships, I have gained experience in developing engaging designs through my creativity. I have collaborated with a nonprofit organization and university departments, which allowed me to develop the skills to create promotional materials, branded assets, and custom illustrations.

As a Chicana, I want to represent la comunidad Hispana into the design industry. My Mexican heritage plays a significant role in my artistic approach which inspires me to incorporate cultural elements that foster representation and pride. I discovered the passion I have for illustration since high school, which laid the foundation for the platform that I have developed to showcase my creative style. In the future, I would like to work with nonprofit organizations, book publishing companies, and small businesses. I thrive in collaborative environments and I am eager to contribute my creative vision, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail to a dynamic design team in Chicago.

Reach out if you are interested to collab with Andrea Calderon - Thank you! Gracias!
